you can't deny...

that the slim possibility of adam getting booted tonight would be fantastic tv.

and i can't lie, i would prefer a kris/danny finale.

the second songs of both kris and danny killed last night... KILLED. i loved both. where adam fell short on my hopes of a non-scream song.

i'm sure they will all have great opporunities after the show regardless of being in the finale... so really couldn't they just boot adam to please me... it's not much to ask, is it? hahahaha.

i heart idol.

now that was a top 5

i don't know about you, but i thoroughly enjoyed last night's performance episode. i can't remember the last season of american idol where i thought "this is what the top 5 should be". not to say i enjoyed every performance, or even every moment of those i thought were the best... but that was some good american idol tv last night.

danny and adam are safe, i don't think anyone would question that.

i was worried about allison last week, and i expected matt and her to be the bottom 2 this week.

if there's a bottom 3, it will be allison, matt and kris. bottom 2, i think matt and kris. allison really worked hard last night and i think it'll pay off votes wise. (in addition to her getting the lil rounds girl supporter votes)

i don't really want to say who will get kicked off because it'll be a bummer either way.

check out the podcast later this week for more in depth coverage :)

Top 7? Right?

Ok, so... quick before the results show.

America is crazy. At this point I'm afraid. I'm afraid of their voting behavior.

I thought Lil Rounds was by far the worst performance. Anoop was great, but I don't know if he has fans. I loooooved that Kris sang Falling Slowly, but does the average American Idol viewer? I doubt it. Bah this week. I really hope Lil gets sent home, but that's sadly not what I think will happen.

I hate worrying about people and their survival... I wish I had watched yesterday and voted for Matt Giraud (it seems like the fans abandon him when he has a few slip ups, but he's still a great contestant).

In my dreams Lil is booted.

In my nightmares Matt Giraud is voted off... but I honestly think the judges veto would be used if that happens. I wouldn't even care if my 3 contestant finale prediction proves false...

Obviously we'll discuss the performances (lambert) on the podcast, no need to get into it here, lol.

Birth year songs and the top 8! We challenge Adam Lambert to woo us... he didn't try very hard this week.

Top 9

Yes! I finally get to beat Laura to the punch!

So what the hell was up with the audio tonight? Anytime a keyboard or a backup singer came in, you couldn't hear the contestant for shit. I actually feel like I don't know what some people really sounded like. Not that that prevents me from having an opinion...

My personal favorite was Danny Gokey. I thought he rocked the Rascal Flatts.

I actually think that this might be the week that we get to say goodbye to Megan Corkrey. At least that is my dearest hope. The judges didn't like her, and there was no one who failed so miserably to take the fall. But alas, they hated on Anoop again, and for some reason I think America's opinion of him in particular changes based on what the judges say. So he could go. And last week Matt Giraud ridiculously ended up in the bottom three after a stellar performance, so he could always be in jeopardy as well. But let's all just hope for Megan, shall we?

Oh Adam Lambert, what to say? So special. We'll leave that one for the podcast.

Top 10! Podcast

Motown and Top 10! Christina joins us again for some idol chat.

Top 10!

Top 10... these are the ones going on the idol tour, so you better get ready.

There's no doubt in my mind that Megan, Scott and Michael will be the bottom 3. And Scott is battling with Megan for being the most terrible. These 3 should be and will be the next 3 to go... I'd prefer Michael stay the longest just because I don't despise him like I do Megan and Scott. I love motown. They sang both of Christina and my request songs!! Her's turned out much better than mine :( Darn you Sarver!

Did anyone else find Adam's face way chub chub without the hair in front of it? And Danny's looking chubbier every week... maybe the stress is getting to them, lol.

I would say much more, but I wanna save the goods for the podcast. Make sure to listen this week for all of our keen observations.

Top 11!

Well first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDI!!! Have a lovely day today!

Oh my goodness... last night...

Matt, Danny, Kriss, Anoop and Allison will be the five top vote getters and have no worries about stayin another week.

Lil and Alexis had less than stellar performances, but I don't think they're in trouble.

Megan, Scott, Michael and Adam were the worst of the bunch...

Scott just because he's not singing well.... it's a singing, not piano competition. (but jesus people like him)

Megan is terrible and i wanted to shoot myself when the judges all praised her, i don't care if she's sick!! i laughed out loud several times during her performance. it was kinda like a drag queen with no control of their vocal chords decided to use a fake singing voice... and was only allowed to move their upper body while singing (movements were less weird this week, but still hilarious).

Michael was just forgettable... i still like him and find his weird mouth closed singing strange, but he is the most country sounding... so he has that behind him.

Adam, adam, adam... WTF!!! i think he's doing somekind of experiment to see how crazy his fans are because that was dreadful... his vocals were fine besides the creepy, creepy, creepy nature and destroying of a classic song. the arrangment was stupid and so indulgent i thought he might start making out with his hand or something. i really believe he has enough fans already to survive that total f'in weirdness though.

so my guess (and hopes and dreams) is that megan is sent home. for being terrible and for changing her name after the show began... i'm gonna call you corkrey until you die.

Top 13! AAAAH!

Gotta make this quick to get it posted under the wire of the live episode! Last week's episode will be posted later this evening (no music clips, but you won't be missing much lol), we didn't record til sunday and i've been mad busy this week. Apologies all around :)

The first top 12 (now 13) episode is always really hard to read... we don't know what the heck America is thinking after the audition process. What we do know...

Megan is terrible. She is singing with a fake "voice" and had the worst song pick of the night (i don't care what they said about anoop... i liked it and they can bug off). She deserves to go home... but that doesn't mean she will.

Jasmin is cute and young, but will not make it to the end, so friggin' spare me listening to her nasal singing.

I love Allison and Alexis, but both of their performances were kinda frightening. Danny Gokey is still America's sweetheart. Adam Lambert is a golden god apparently, but is merely the distraction from the Danny Gokey show idol has created.

We will into to depth on each performance and give our thoughts on tonights results in this week's episode which will be posted thursday evening/friday morning... pinky swear :)

AI Top 36: Round 3

I'm not sure where Kim is at watching the show this week, but I just finished watching last night's episode... so here are my predictions!

ummm well let's just say lil rounds is the top girl... then i'm not positive, but scott blind guy and jorge nunez pulled out all the stops on the show. both sang okay and have endearing qualities. so i'm going predict those 3 will be picked by america. besides lil rounds, i don't see this week as very clear cut though. anything could happen! and that's why i love idol!

i personally i think ju'not joyner was the best male vocal (love him) and i still have hopes for taylor vaifanua in the wild card round. i enjoy an alicia keys song not sung by alicia keys, hahaha.

we'll see tonight on the results!

AI Top 36: Round 2

Well, let's see first off... the 2nd set of 12 was pitiful in comparison to the first set last week. Thinking back to last week and my disappointment with a lot of the performances, that's saying a lot. Thank jeebus they bailed on the red room and the awkward parent interaction.

I don't know where to start. I guess I'll just head straight to my predictions for tomorrow. Adam Lambert (although his whole persona doesn't jive with me, i think simon summed my thoughts quite well) and Allison Iraheta (that's my kelly clarkson girl!) for the male and female leads. Then I would guess either Mischa Vonna Henson (surprised me but she was mostly in tune and i can't say that for the majority of the show) or Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentile.

Sorry to Kim if I have bad predictions!!

I was very pleased with Jasmine Murray's ruff performance and saddened by Kim's piano man Matt Giraud's TERRIBLE song choice, your vibrato and song choice must match people! I have many more thoughts on the show, but they'll have to wait til the podcast!

AI Top 36: Round 1 Top 3

hahaha that title makes me laugh, so many numbers!

looks like our predictions and my love of lumberjacks came through tonight. danny gokey, alexis grace and michael sarver (he apparently dropped the jeremy) made it through to the top 12!

i actually couldn't be more pleased :) i was bracing myself to lose sarver (my lumberjack love), but the american audience looked past his questionable performance last night and let him through. i'm pleased because i know he can do much better and i can see his lumberjack ways at least one more time.

ten dollars says the judges bring back crazytown tatiana del toro for the wild card round. it wouldn't be idol if they didn't.

AI Top 36: Round 1

Well all right then. The first AI live show is out of the way. Thank god. Hopefully now they can stop screwing everything up. Am I the only one who has no pity for a gazillion dollar enterprise that doesn't know how to run a live show? Anyways, I just got done watching it, so I'll give you my predictions.

I thought this was going to be a much tighter race than it was. The highest vote-getter for the guys will obviously be Danny Gokey, far and away. How he can sing "Hero" and get away with it is beyond me, but whatever, he obviously doesn't suck.

The girls were something else. As far as I'm concerned, the only people in the race are Alexis Grace and Tatiana DelToro, as much as it pains me to say. If America can get past her being the craziest contestant ever, Tatiana has the best voice. If they want someone that seems sane, they'll pick Alexis because she's the only other girl who didn't murder her song in one way or another.

The third spot is a hard one, mostly because no one else did that well. It definitely won't be a girl. It's kind of a toss-up between Anoop Desai and Michael Sarver who both are extremely enjoyable but suffered from poor song choice.

With this new format it will be interesting to see how they will stretch the results show into an hour with only three spots to give away. Laura and I will watch tonight's episode and hopefully get a podcast to you sometime tomorrow or Friday.

Let us know what you think about the first round!

Weekend Update

Oh I love that Amy Pohler and Seth Meyers :)

On the American Idol front we were set to record tonight and Kimmer's internet begged to differ. Her apartment complex provides the internet service and sometimes it goes kaput for no apparent reason. Unfortunately tonight was one of those times.

I was considering posting a few comments, but I don't wanna spoil the soon-to-be episode too much... just know that as a long time fan of Idol I always expect, and yet dread, the truly crazy contestants. We are hoping to record Sunday night and have it out asap for you to get pumped for next week's episodes and the first set of 12 semi-finalists.

Top 36 Predictions by Kimmer

Hello people! I know we said we were going to do a podcast in between the episodes this week, but I opened my fat mouth before I realized I worked second shift on Tuesday and Laura had interviews on Wednesday.

So I just got done watching Tuesday's episode and wanted to make my short predictions which you will hear in full on the podcast we record this evening. Then I'll watch yesterday's episode and see if I'm right.

Don't worry Randi, I think Adam Lambert will get through. He looks like a Fiyero.
-Matt Giraud
-Anoop Desai (is enjoyable)
-Scott the blind guy
-Lil Rounds
-Tatiana the freak show will get into the top 36 because it's like bringing the horror of auditions to Hollywood.
-Steven Fowler totally bombed and still made it through, so I bet we'll see him again.
-Norman Gentle for the same reasons as Tatiana, except he's faking.
-Anne Maria Boscovich
-Oil Rigger Man is gold.
-Milwaukee boys because people love a best friends story and they don't suck that bad. But if only one gets through, it'll be Danny.
